"We anchored off Prion Island in the morning, and went ashore. The landing beach was covered with Fur Seals and King Penguins, a few
Elephant Seals, and a few Gentoo Penguins. The weather was overcast. We proceeded up a trail through the tussock grass to the top of the island. Nesting on the island were Wandering Albatross, Giant Petrels, Antarctic Skuas, and Light-mantled Sooty Albatross. We also saw numerous South Georgia Pipits, the only passerine bird in Antarctica. There were also Yellow-billed Pintails around." |
