Paulet Island, Antarctica

Day 13: January 25th

"Landed on Paulet Island in the morning. It was covered by a huge Adelie Penguin rookery. Large areas of the island were covered in pink, mushy ooze from spilled krill. The smell was powerful at first, although one did tend to get used to it.... There were the remains of a stone hut, erected by the survivors of the wreck of the Antarctic in 1903.

There was a Blue-eyed Shag rookery at the end of the beach, on a steep hillside."
