Gold Harbor, South Georgia

Day 9: January 21st

"We went to shore at Gold Harbor. It was a long, gravel beach covered with King Penguins, Elephant Seals and Fur Seals. There were also a few Gentoos, Arctic Sheathbills, Blue-eyed Shags, and Light-mantled Sooty Albatross.

The King Penguins were in all stages of development. There were birds mating, one-year-old chicks still with their downy coat, chicks molting, adults with eggs, and adults molting."
