Carcass Island, the Falklands

Day 3: January 15th

"Carcass Island was covered with numerous Magellanic Penguin burrows, and Upland geese were common.

On the opposite side of the island (from where we landed) which we walked to, we found a Gentoo (penguin) colony.

We also saw many Tussoc birds on the beach. They were fearless, and would hop around between people as if they weren't even there. We saw a skua pick up an egg, fly around a little, then land and proceed to eat it.

On returning to the landing site I saw a Black-throated finch, a striking little bird."
